A pregnant woman has allegedly beaten her husband to death for an alleged extramarital affair at Delta. The incident occurred on Monday, March 15, on the Ekrejebor hub of the city of Ughelli in the Ughelli North local government area of the state.
It was learned that the 22-year-old woman identified as Faith Okiemute allegedly killed her husband, Edafe Unuakpor, 27, with a machete. After allegedly committing the crime, he reportedly fled to the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station to escape jungle justice. “The woman was angry because her husband did not spend the night at home. After his return, she accused him of having been with another woman and macheted him in one of his hands and abdomen,” said a source Nigerian Tribune
“She ran to the Ughelli ‘A’ Division police to report as her husband’s friends took him to Ughelli Central Hospital where his death was confirmed. Angry at his death, the friends brought and dumped his body at the entrance to the Ughelli ‘A’ Division of the Nigerian Police that provoked sporadic gunfire by the police to disperse the crowd. ”Added the source.
Delta State Police Acting Public Relations Officer DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said the investigation is ongoing.
The couple have a two-year-old son together, while the pregnant woman is said to have had two children with an ex-husband before marrying the deceased.
