The learning materials in question are ‘Ghana History’ and ‘Golden English’ written by Badu Nkansah and Okyere Baafi Alexander respectively, which some legislators and Ghanaians have described as “offensive, divisive and inflammatory” to people coming from the region. of the Volta.
The House of Chiefs of the Volta Region (VRHC) stated that “Some of the contents of said book, which throw disparaging allusions and insinuations at Ewes, are, to say the least, in bad taste and an embarrassment to the authors and publishers of said material. destined to educate the younger generation of this country. “

The VRHC “considers it very reprehensible for those responsible for this offensive publication to harbor such vile thoughts about their fellow Ghanaians in the 21st century.”
Given this, the president of the House of Chiefs Volta, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, in a press release dated Monday, has asked those responsible for “the offensive publication to withdraw it from circulation and destroy all part of the offensive material . “
According to the statement, any publication that demonstrates intolerance and tribal prejudice will be condemned without reservation by the institution.
The House of Chief Volta, therefore, is demanding an unconditional apology from the authors and editors of this base material to be delivered to all Ewe-speaking Ghanaians.
“Furthermore, we urge other ethnic groups in this country to condemn publications so divisive that they only serve as a recipe for chaos and disunity,” the statement added.
However, should the textbook in question not be removed and destroyed, the House of Chiefs of Volta is committed to seeking legal redress from the appropriate judicial institution.

Meanwhile, Badu Nkansah has unreservedly apologized to Ghanaians and to all those who have been negatively affected in one way or another.
