Samini and Stonebwoy’s fight on Twitter began after the latter praised Nigerians for supporting their artists to achieve new milestones, particularly the Grammy Awards.
In his Monday morning tweet, Stonebwoy called on other African countries to applaud Nigerians for the tireless support and push of their artists.

But some, including Samini, took his tweet as a kind of condemnation of Ghanaians for failing to do for their artists what Nigeria did for Burna Boy and Wizkid.
This tweet evoked a response from Samini, who responded to Stonebwoy’s tweet, calling him a “phony” for berating Ghanaians for allegedly not supporting their own.
