The Chief Operating Officer of PGA Ghana, Mr. Ahmed Padori
The 2021 PGA Gold Fields Qualifiers will be held at Achimota Golf Course from March 17-19, 2021, organizers announced.
Ghana PGA Chief Operating Officer Ahmed Padori, in an interview with Accra-based Power FM, said 24 players will qualify for the first and second phases at Achimota Golf Course and Celebrity Golf Course to the main championship later this year in Damang.
He said the date for the second qualifying round at the Celebrity Golf Course in Sakumono would be announced in due course.
He said Gold Fields Ghana Limited has put up some fantastic prizes for players who will excel, although in golf they are not paid in any tie.
He also expects dignitaries like Ghana Golf Association President Mike Aggrey to grace the qualifier.
According to him, although golf is not a contact sport, all COVID-19 security protocols will be observed to stop the spread of the virus.
He saluted the Achimota Golf Course for their acceptance as the venue for the event when approached by the PGA and also thanked the Ghanaian media for their continued support.
