Assin South Constituency Member of Parliament the Rev. John Ntim Fordjour and his wife Tracy Fordjour spent March 6, 2021 at the National Center for Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and Burns at Korle Bu University Hospital to show kindness to a victim of a 9 year fire accident. .
The girl’s name is only given when it is reported that Mavis suffered severe burns at her home in Assin Nsuaem in the Assin South Constituency on December 22, 2020, in her attempt to cook.
After receiving initial treatment at a nearby Health Center, Mavis’s condition led to a referral to the National Center for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns in Korle Bu, where she underwent successful surgery to restore parts of her damaged skin.
Since then, the boy has been in the hospital recovering from the injury. Although her father supported her and paid part of the bills, the hospital and surgery bill had piled up.
Ntim Fordjour’s partner, learning of Mavis’s plight, visited her to make some donations and make sure the remaining bills were paid.
Since then, Mavis has been discharged and is recovering at her home in Assin Nsuaem.
These were revealed in a Facebook post by Reverend Ntim Fordjour below.
“On March 6, my beautiful wife Tracy and I received the injection (first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine). The second part of our day was spent at the Korle Bu University Hospital Burn and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Center, where we visited our little friend Mavis.
Mavis had been referred to Korle Bu for treatment after suffering severe burns at her home in Assin Nsuaem. With our modest support, Mavis has been discharged and is now able to visit her mother and siblings at home.
We sincerely thank God for saving her life and we thank the nurses and doctors who supported Mavis. Take the jab, it’s safe. And show someone a little kindness when you can. “
