English international Dele Alli thanked his Twitter followers for sending messages of support after he was attacked by two gunmen who robbed his £ 2 million home.

The 24-year-old Tottenham midfielder was punched in the face after being threatened by two masked intruders armed with knives in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He was there with his girlfriend Ruby Mae when the thieves took jewelry worth thousands of pounds, including expensive watches.

Alli tweeted: “Thanks for all the messages. Horrible experience, but we are all fine now. I appreciate the support.”

It is understood that Alli and her adoptive brother Harry Hickford, 24, were attacked and suffered facial injuries during the robbery.

Dele, Ruby Mae, Harry and Harry’s girlfriend have been sharing the property in Barnet, North London during the closure, along with a fifth person who is friends with the group, all of whom were believed to be present at the time of the incident. .

Both couples were playing cards when the robbery occurred, but police have not yet determined how the thieves gained access to the property.

“The two men carried knives and threatened them and wanted to know where they could find the valuables,” a source close to the star told the Mirror.

“They took a lot of jewelry and watches that are extremely valuable.

“Dele was assaulted, punched in the face while trying to fight the men, and a fight ensued.

“Harry got involved and was also injured.”

One of the stolen watches is believed to be worth £ 850,000.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said that no arrests had been made and that investigations were ongoing.

A spokesperson added: “Police were called at approximately 12:35 in the morning on Wednesday, May 13, to receive reports of a robbery at a residential address.

“Two men entered the property and stole jewelry, including watches, before fleeing.

“Two male occupants on the property suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted. They did not require hospital treatment.

“There have been no arrests. Investigations into the circumstances continue.”

The latest raid comes two months after the family of fellow Tottenham player Jan Vertonghen was robbed at knifepoint while out of service in the Champions League.
