Ghana will collect the first batch of 600,000 dose Covax vaccines on Tuesday and carry out phase-by-phase Covid-19 vaccination for different groups of pipo for the West African kontri.
For the statement of the Ministry of Information, as of March 2, 2021, Covid-19 vaccines will be moved to health centers and oda centers that are approved for different regions of di kontri.
Authorities say the first groups of pipo wey dem are going to start vaccinating health workers, pipo wey dey 60 years old and ovules, pipo wey gt underlying health problem, front line executive, members of parliament, judicial staff and day, frontline security personnel, some religious leaders, essential workers, teachers and personalities from the ode for the Greater Accra Metro, including Awutu, Senya and Awutu Senya East for the Central Region.
They must also vaccinate the wey pipo who are within the group where they live for the Greater Kumasi metro and Obuasi municipality.
On Tuesday, February 24, the plane was carrying 600,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine organized by the Center for Global Access for COVID Vaccines (COVAX) in Accra, Ghana.
This makes Ghana the first African Kontri to receive the coronavirus vaccine through COVAX, which is a global program created by the World Health Organization to ensure that they share the vaccine fairly among Kontris.
UNICEF says they have chosen di kontri to collect the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine because they are ready to start vaccination.
Ghana is among 92 countries in the world that are part of the WHO program.
