Summary – Inter Allies 1-0 WAFA SC – Accra:
In a long time, we had a league win and we had to go home with a smile.
Inter Allies defeated WAFA SC 1-0 at Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon to clear the match on day 15 of the current Ghana Premier League.
Nafiu Sulemana’s powerful header in the second half led to just our third win of the season so far.
The coaching team handed some of the new players their debut with Abdul Nassiru Hamzah returning to make his second debut.
Sunday Kalu, Richard Arthur, and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu also received their opening roles.
The first half hour was very intense and positive for us, we dominated and created some decent chances, but none found the back of the net.
It was a very difficult half with WAFA displaying one of the toughest defensive setups in the league, the first half ended goalless.
Even though the beginning of the second half was difficult, with the away team creating most of the problems, we had a better shot on target.
Five minutes after the hour, Fard Ibrahim sent a mocking corner kick and Nafiu Sulemana rushed to receive the ball with a heavy header. The goalkeeper for the first time in the match was defeated.
It could have been two for us just ten minutes later, but Richard Arthur’s one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper was calmly saved.
It was a great show from the goalkeeper who also did very well to stop Abdul Nassiru Hamzah’s shot.
WAFA showed strength in the last embers of the game but their efforts were useless.
Richard Arthur, who made his debut for us, was named NASCO man of the game.
