Former Cameroon assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko is reported to have turned down the opportunity to take over the Hearts of Oak coaching position.
Previous reports in local media suggested that the former Ghana international is closing in on the Hearts of Oak vacant position. The Phobians are looking for a new coach after the departure of Serbian coach Kosta Papic, who submitted his resignation during the week.
Reports further stated that the Rainbow Boys have contacted the former Black Stars assistant coach and happen to be the favorites for the job.
But according to sources, Ibrahim Tanko has distanced himself from work for personal reasons.
In the meantime, Phobians U-15 manager Samuel Nii Noi has been appointed to lead the club until a senior manager is appointed.
His first loan will be against Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday, February 18, 2021
