GhIPCON 2021 scheduled for March 10-11

The fourth Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCON) will be held in Accra on March 10-11, 2021.

GhIPCON is Ghana’s premier petroleum conference organized by the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and in association with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the Petroleum Trading Companies Association ( AOMC).

The annual conference is designed to actively highlight the oil industry’s perspective and guidance on government policy and regulatory issues, as well as best practices for advancing the industry not only in Ghana but throughout the West African sub-region and beyond. there.

GhIPCON 2021 will be a virtual event that will be held under the theme “Positioning the African Oil Industry for the AfCFTA”, the continental free trade agreement that has been hailed as a breakthrough in promoting intra-African trade.

“AfCFTA is a game changer and has the potential to transform the way we as Africans do business and trade with each other,” says Senyo Hosi, executive director of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors. “That is why we want GhIPCON 2021 to focus on this very important free trade agreement, to discuss how the oil industry can set the pace and set an example for other industries to realize that with the right policies, Africans are self-sufficient and we can trade between ourselves and our countries can support each other to industrialize and become the main economic players in the world.

Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the Accra-based AfCFTA Secretariat, will be the keynote speaker at GhIPCON 2021. Other confirmed speakers for the event include Anibor Kragha, Executive Secretary, African Association of Refiners and Distributors (ARA), Engr. Babajide Soyode, Technical Consultant to Group President / CE, Dangote Industries Limited, Daniel Amoah, CEO of GH Group, and David Ofosu-Dorte, Senior Partner of AB & David Africa. Others are Gary Still, CITAC Africa Managing Director, James McCullagh, CITAC Africa Executive Director, and John-Laurent Tronche, Market Share Manager – Europe and Africa, S&P Global Platts.
