`The Designated Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, is committed to providing quality leadership when given the go-ahead to achieve the government’s transformation agenda in the education sector.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, despite his status, has always delighted in choosing a marker and participating in his passion, which is teaching, regardless of level, at the least opportunity to the surprise of many Ghanaians.
“I am a ‘chief teacher’ and when I become a minister, they will see me with a marker teaching in the classroom,” Dr. Adutwum assured Parliament’s Nominating Committee for consideration when he appeared before him on Friday February 12. December 2021.
According to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti region, if approved, it would seek a rigorous and robust education system to bridge the disparities between children from the southern and northern sectors.
The former Deputy Minister of Education also promised to ensure that required personal protective equipment was supplied to public and private schools on time, while suspected COVID-19 cases were immediately reported to mapped health facilities.
“Schools will be a safer environment than home if we stay ahead of the disease in terms of decision-making, therefore the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service have been collaborating to achieve that goal,” stated Dr. Adutwum.
The renowned pedagogue is committed to providing the necessary support to bright but needy students from underprivileged communities to pursue their dream courses at universities.
