Accra Grand Olympics Captain Gladson Awako
Accra Grand Olympics head coach Annor Walker has said her captain Gladson Awako deserves a call to the Black Stars.
The pattern of the Accra Grand Olympics has been impressive for the two-time Ghana Premier League champions in the current Ghana Premier League season.
The 2009 U-20 World Cup winner has scored six goals and has already won four Man of the Match awards.
However, Walker in an interview said he is not surprised by the performance of the former TP Mazembe star player this season.
According to him, Awako’s performance deserves a call to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 African Cup of Nations. [Afcon] qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé.
“I am in awe of Gladson Awako’s performance,” he told Asempa FM. “It has been great for the club.”
“He has been playing according to instructions since the preseason and his praise on the field is incredible. When I recommended him to the management and board, they did not reject my proposal because they knew what I could offer the club.
“For me, Awako deserves a call to Black Stars. He has shown he deserves a call-up and every soccer fan in the country wants to see Awako play for the Black Stars. “
“I will only urge you to continue with this performance,” he added.
