Inter Milan, Barcelona and Manchester City are approaching a mega deal that would see three players change the stage. According to a new report.
Lautaro Martínez, Nélson Semedo and João Cancelo are the players involved in this possible successful exchange, with money changing hands in the process. This could be one of the highest-value, if not most, trading operations in history.
The report says Lautaro’s signing is almost complete, but one obstacle was which player to include in the deal to reduce cash demands on the striker.
Semedo was offered to Inter, but the Italians considered his salary too high. Then it was offered to Emerson, who is loaned to Real Betis. But despite good reports on the Brazilian, his value was deemed too low to bring the price down enough for Barcelona.
Meanwhile, City had made an offer for Semedo, offering Cancelo to Barcelona to lower the price. It was then that the idea of combining both offers came up, and Barcelona offered Cancel to Inter.
Then, the Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes entered the scene. He represents both defenders and is said to approve of the deal.
It is a complicated agreement with several players and three clubs involved, but if the City and Barcelona agree on the Semedo-Cancelo exchange, the move for Lautaro is one step ahead.
From then on, there is a possibility that Barcelona wants to include another player along with Cancelo. The most likely candidate for that is Arturo Vidal, although Inter is said to be studying various options. Thereafter, the final agreement could be Cancelo plus Vidal plus 60 million euros, a part of which would come from the City paying extra to get Semedo for Cancelo.
In theory, all parties would benefit.
Semedo would get a raise and a new stage to progress. The city would get the right they really want. Inter would strengthen in two positions and would have extra money to spend. Vidal would have more playing time. Lautaro would move. Barcelona would catch its man and would not have to break the bank.
