Fantasy Football players who have Jan Bednarek on their squad took a significant hit Tuesday night when the Southampton defender scored minus seven points after his disastrous performance in a 9-0 loss to Manchester United.

But one player was hurt more than others after deciding to triple the defender, meaning he would have lost 21 points due to his performance.

Bednarek endured a torrid night at Old Trafford when he scored an own goal in the first half before receiving a direct red card late in the game.

Fantasy Football players with Bednarek on their team were quick to express their grief on Twitter, while others mocked them.

One user wrote, ‘Kill me’ after discovering Bednarek’s total points for the night, while another said, ‘I just want to uninstall this app now.’

Southampton finished the game with just nine men, after Alex Jankewitz was also sent off after just 79 seconds into the match.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men made them pay for their poor discipline by hitting nine in a resounding victory to advance to level points with their rivals City at the top of the table.

The match ended at half-time as United entered four thanks to goals from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and an own goal from Bednarek.

And things went from bad to worse for Southampton with Martial and McTominay reaching six before they were reduced to nine men with Bednarek fired late.

United added shine to the scoreboard as Bruno Fernandes, Martial and Dan James scored in the closing minutes to complete the win.

Solskjaer praised his United players after their dominant victory.

He told BT Sport: ‘We have been waiting for them (the players) to show the magic and tonight was a night where they could go and enjoy themselves.’

Confidence is one to think, but it was all about the magic and the spark, the X Factor. We haven’t had too many where we can sit and enjoy football.

‘You have to take risks in closed or open matches. You never know what the deciding factor might be.

“We know better than anyone what goal difference can do to you because we lost the league on goal difference.”
