Ghana records 797 new Covid-19 cases, 28 deaths

Twenty-eight more people have died from the new coronavirus, as the country recorded 797 new infections as of January 27.

This brings the death toll to 405 and 4,665 active cases, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

In addition, of a cumulative total of 65,427 confirmed cases of Covid-19 so far, 60, 357 have been recovered or discharged.

Following the increase in cases, the president in his last speech to the nation said that citizens must mask themselves and practice Covid-19 security protocols, otherwise, they will have no choice but to re-close certain parts of the country.

Nana Akufo-Addo instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to instruct the officers, men and women of the Ghana Police Service to ensure compliance with the law on the use of masks in all public places and in transport public.
