Socrate Safo is a filmmaker
Popular Ghanaian filmmaker Socrate Safo has described the nomination of Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal by President Akufo-Addo as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture as one of the best things that ever happened to the industry.
The former CEO of Graphic Communications Group has been transferred from the Ministry of Business Development, which he had led since its creation in 2017, to the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, subject to the approval of Parliament.
When approved, Dr. Awal would replace Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who replaced Catherine Afeku in February 2019.
In discussing his appointment, Socrate congratulated Dr. Awal and mentioned that his marketing skills will be of the utmost importance to the industry.
“As on the day of the nomination, I was not surprised, but before, when I learned his name from a nearby source.
