Asante Kotoko struggled to prevail over opponents as Ebusua Dwarfs played a compact game to keep Kwame Opoku, Fabio Gama and Emmanuel Gyamfi at bay at Cape Coast Stadium.
The first half failed to produce any goals, with the header from Brazilian Fabio Gama in 35th minute missing target by inches.
The second half was no different than the first, with Kotoko doing her best for the victory. Kwame Opoku missed a glorious opportunity to give Asante Kotoko the lead, but the former Nkoranza Warriors forward missed it. He faced two players and had only the goalkeeper at his mercy, but his last ball disappointed him when the kick flashed off the goalpost.
Asmah sent a good cross into the box and Nettey headed to the net for the match winner in 70.th minute.
Asante Kotoko protected the lead to extend his league unbeaten streak with interim coach Johnson Smith to five games.
