Ghana Health Service (GHS) Director of Public Health Dr Franklin Asiedu-Bokoe says the Service will support the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) to investigate alleged falsification of test results COVID-19.

He said the Service was monitoring development and would allow the Institute to conduct its investigations to confirm the validity of the certificate of COVID-19 test results displayed on social media.

The Director of Public Health said that the GHS would, however, assist the Institute by searching the Kotoka International Airport records to find out if the name shown on the NMIMR’s purported results certification went through the system and will verify its initial results. .

“From what I know, it will be very difficult to buy such a certificate in Ghana unless you falsify it,” he said.

Mr. Asiedu-Bokoe described the accusation as a revelation for all and said that it was important for the Institute to take a look at its systems.

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (MIMR) said Sunday that it has begun investigations into the alleged falsification of COVID-19 test results at the Institute, following reports on social media claiming violations of testing protocols. COVID-19.

The Institute, in a statement issued by Professor Abraham Kwabena Anang, director of the NMIMR, assured that the accusation is being treated with “great seriousness.”

The statement said that in addition to the Institute’s internal investigations, external investigations would be conducted by Homeland Security, which was in discussions with the Coordinator of the National Network of COVID-19 Testing Laboratories.
