Bechem United on Sunday drew an early lead to settle for a throbbing 1-1 draw against King Faisal on Matchday 8 of the Ghana Premier League..
Moro Salifu gave the home team a well-earned lead before the break, but second-half substitute Kwame Preprah tied things for the visitors.
Bechem United came close to taking the lead after three minutes, but Hafiz Konkoni’s shot was blocked by Pius Baffour before young goalkeeper Adams Jabal came to save.
King Faisal had his own minutes later, but Wadudu Yakubu missed the opportunity.
Then King Faisal had the upper hand for about 15 procedural minutes, as Michael Amoh and Kwadwo Frimpong combined well from the left, but the latter once again blew the opportunity from close range.
The Hunters approached through Stephen Owusu before Moro Salifu made sure his team went into halftime with the lead after scoring with one minute to go.
Young Kwame Pepprah was introduced before the start of the second half when he entered Kwadwo Frimpong. Pepprah made an immediate impact two minutes after coming in with a bold forward to level King Faisal.
King Faisal had penalty calls ignored by the referee after former Dreams FC striker Michael Amoh was judged to have been fouled in the Bechem United box.
Stephen Owusu was close again, but King Faisal goalkeeper Pius Baffour was on hand to make another save.
Kwame Pepprah was denied by the carpentry in the final stages of the game after a brilliant move by King Faisal.
With just a few minutes to go, Bechem United kept up the pressure on King Faisal but the visitors gallantly defended to deny the Hunters.
