Manchester United fans were able to enjoy another semi-final defeat on Wednesday night when rivals Manchester City eliminated them from the Carabao Cup.
It is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fourth loss at that stage in a competition since he was in charge, and he never reached a final as United manager.
United also lost to City last year in the Carabao Cup and also suffered semi-final defeats to Chelsea in the FA Cup and Sevilla in the Europa League.
While significant progress has been made under Solskjaer, there is no question that this United team needs more to go one step further.
Yet in today’s United gossip compilation, it seems like it’s all about the expenses.
Newcastle interested in the trio

For all the good Solskjaer has done in the transfer windows, United still have some dead wood.
Phil Jones is one, Jesse Lingard possibly is another. The latter was recently shot for its one-year extension.
Well, according to 90min, Steve Bruce is interested in bringing both of them, plus Brandon Williams, to Newcastle.
All three would be on loan.
Pereira considers cutting loans

Another who could fall into the deadwood category, Andreas Pereira is currently on loan to Lazio.
The 25-year-old has only made 15 appearances, the vast majority from the bench.
According to Lazio Siamo Noi, Pereira is considering asking for his Serie A term to end.
The Brazilian international wants more playing time and could ask to change clubs to find what he wants.
Caicedo wants to fulfill his dream

It seemed that Moisés Caicedo’s move to Manchester United was a forgotten conclusion before Christmas, but there are now several reports indicating that he has received offers from many clubs.
According to Ecuadorian journalist Marco López Castillo, the highly rated 19-year-old has received two more offers from MLS.
However, it is reported that Caicedo wants to fulfill his dream at United.
