La Blaugrana is still linked to the movements of future free agents Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum despite the club’s volatile financial situation.
Various underprivileged players in Koeman’s ranks, such as Samuel Umtiti, Junior firpo and the one linked to Arsenal Riqui Puig – have been proposed to move on after fighting for starts in the 2020-21 campaign.
When asked by journalists about possible exits and the next presidential elections, Koeman said: “There are players who are in a difficult situation at the club and we also want to strengthen the squad.
“When we know who the next president will be, there won’t be long [left in the transfer window]. We have to be prepared to speak quickly to solve sports problems. I cannot change the date of the elections, we have to accept it.
“In principle, I wouldn’t be disappointed if I couldn’t make signings because of the club’s situation. I talk a lot with (sports director) Ramon Planes of young players, where we can improve the quality of the squad, although the new president will have to be the one to sign the decisions ”.
Barcelona ranks sixth in the La Liga table ahead of Sunday night’s game with Huesca.
