Zinedine Zidane has expressed his joy at the form recently shown by Marco Asensio. The Real Madrid forward has started each of the last three games and was directly involved in the two goals against Celta de Vigo on Saturday.

After preparing Lucas Vázquez for Los Blancos’ first goal, Asensio put his own name on the scoreboard early in the second half in the 2-0 victory.

“I’m happy for Asensio,” Zidane said at full time. “He has had a great injury and now he is much better and is improving every time.

“I’m happy for him and it’s like that with everyone else too. We played a very serious game. I’m happy for everyone.”

The Real Madrid manager also had positive things to say about the other scorer on Saturdays, Lucas Vázquez.

“It’s not that I like him so much, it’s that he’s doing very well,” added Zidane. “He is very reliable, very committed and I am happy with what he is doing.

“Saying that, it’s always about the team. We play very well today. It’s always about scoring points and that’s not easy. We are all very happy.”

Another very committed player in the Real Madrid books is Nacho, who replaced Sergio Ramos against Celta.

“It’s not just now, he’s very professional all the time and he’s always important when he plays,” Zidane said of the defender.

“What he has done does not surprise me. I am happy for him and for the team because they are three very important points.”

Dani Carvajal was substituted in the last minutes at Valdebebas.

“Carva had a problem,” Zidane explained. “I think it is a minor thing and it was better not to take risks.”
