Son Heung-min’s effort was the thirteenth time this season that he and Harry Kane have combined for a goal.
Son Heung-min scored his 100th goal for Tottenham as they won again in the Premier League against Leeds.
Spurs’ first league win since December 6 lifts them to third place in the table, while Leeds remain 11th.
While José Mourinho’s team deserved their victory, Leeds played a major role in their own downfall.
A misguided pass from goalkeeper Illan Meslier led Harry Kane to open the scoring with a penalty after Ezgjan Alioski fouled Steven Bergwijn.
Kane then became a provider, with a cross from the right that was swept by Son at the near post as the hosts doubled their lead.
While Leeds advanced at every opportunity and carved out their own chances, they were often left exposed on defense and were fortunate not to be punished more severely by Mourinho’s side.
As it stood, Toby Alderweireld’s near post header rounded the score at the start of the second half, with Meslier guilty again as he fumbled over the line.
It was a welcome result for Mourinho, who called the situation around Wednesday’s postponed game against Fulham “unprofessional” and is also likely not impressed by three of his players who violated coronavirus rules by attending a party at Christmas.
The only downside to the day for the Spurs was the firing of defender Matt Doherty in injury time for a second warning.

Son and Kane turn the Spurs on
The problem for Spurs and Mourinho fans in recent weeks has been that you never know exactly what to expect from this Tottenham team.
There is the team that is ruthless, relentless and showed clinical efficiency during victories over Manchester clubs and their north London rivals Arsenal.
And there is the one who stuttered and at times fell back, conceding late goals that cost them points in meetings with Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Wolves.
One constant, however, is the lethal association of Kane e Son, who have now combined for 13 top flight goals this period, to equal the record set by Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton of Blackburn in 1994-95.
SAS led Kenny Dalglish’s team to the league title that span and Mourinho surely will not have privately ruled that his team could still find momentum for a title change despite having previously downplayed its chances.
Kane, who was a threat from the moment he launched a quick left foot shot over the Leeds crossbar, has now scored against all 30 teams he has faced in the Premier League.
Son, whose energy and career provided the spark for many of Tottenham’s attacks, emphasized their importance with a superb display that has now seen him contribute 17 goals in his last 14 games.
With Bergwijn failing to convert three good chances and Ben Davies also shining when well placed, his performance also underscored Tottenham’s confidence in their star forward duo.
