5 Liverpool Goals in January Window as Reds Look to Ease Injury Crisis – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Score, Results

Liverpool will undoubtedly have wanted to keep the powder dry in the January transfer window after spending more in the summer.

But with the Reds to the bone on defense, it looks like Jurgen Klopp will have to add reinforcements to his squad sooner rather than later.

Joel Matip’s latest injury has sidelined him for several weeks, and questions have been raised about his durability to last the entire season without further problems.

With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez still waiting to miss out much of the season, Klopp could now dive into the market to help ease the burden on his side.

But which players are on your radar?

Here’s a look at five players who could move to Anfield this month.

Ozan kabak

A name that has spread a lot with respect to Liverpool in recent months.

Kabak was on the Reds’ radar in the summer, but Klopp chose to stick with his options before the unforeseeable injury problems that followed.

However, the 20-year-old is still a player Liverpool are interested in and has done well for Schalke in the Bundesliga.

The German side is also in a tough spot with their finances at the moment and they are reportedly asking for quite a reasonable £ 22.5 million for the youngster.

But Liverpool are unwilling to spend a lot, and had to do some smart accounting in the summer to do the business they wanted.

A possible trade deal involving Divock Origi has been discussed, but it is unclear if Schalke would be open to that, while AC Milan is vying for Kabak’s services.

Bremer’s track

Torino’s Brazilian center-back Bremer is another Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on lately.

The 23-year-old has shown his class in Serie A over the past two seasons, but Liverpool are not the only Premier League side interested.

Fulham could have landed Bremer in the summer, opting for Joachim Anderson, though he’s still interested.

But Liverpool’s strongest competition appears to come from Merseyside rivals Everton, who are ready to fight for Bremer’s signature.

Perr schuurs

Already touted as the next Matthijs de Ligt, the next up-and-coming talent from Ajax’s production line has already shown his skills against Liverpool this season.

The 21-year-old is similarly built to now Juventus star De Ligt: tall in stature and a strong, robust presence on his back.

Schuurs impressed in the match between the two teams at the Amsterdam Arena, and it seems certain that he will continue to improve.

He’s still a bit crude in terms of skill, but given that De Ligt eventually sold for £ 67 million, Liverpool may want to get in now before his price tag inevitably spirals upward.

Sven Botman

Like Schuurs, Botman was educated at the famous Ajax academy, but has already moved to new pastures.

The 20-year-old has been plying his trade in Lille this season after a £ 9 million trade in the summer.

Lille is not exactly looking to sell to the Dutchman, but its financial troubles are widely known.

They currently value Botman at £ 45 million, but, aware of the interest of other clubs, they could accept almost half for a quick profit.

Both Liverpool and Inter Milan are said to have contacted Botman’s agent in November, and an offer of £ 27 million could be enough to seal the deal.

Milan Skriniar

It seems unlikely that this will happen anytime soon.

Liverpool would love to add a player of Skriniar’s stature to their ranks, but the cost of a deal will be incredibly tough in January.

Inter Milan want £ 54m in exchange for the Slovak, and even the biggest of Michael Edwards’s negotiations would make this a tricky deal to get over the line before the window slammed shut.

On the other hand, if anyone can …
