Less than 24 hours after the standard-bearer of the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) filed a petition to challenge the presidential results of the recently concluded 2020 general elections in the Supreme Court, some Ghanaians have taken to social media to share their views .

Mr. John Dramani Mahama, through his lawyers, has asked the Supreme Court to order a replay of the presidential elections.

He argued that the votes obtained by the candidate of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), President Nana Akufo-Addo and himself as declared by the president of the EC, were not enough for a candidate to be announced the winner.

But in reaction to the former president’s request, some social media users accused him and his party of being inconsistent.

The former president’s lawyers are also being controlled for filing what many have described as an “error-ridden petition” with the hashtag “Error petition” that is already trending on Twitter.
