Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie
Ghana’s multi-award winning rapper Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu, in an interview with Kobby Kyei on Stars Talk Show, revealed that he was the first artist to jump-start a fanbase in Ghana.
It has become increasingly obvious that Fanbase has become one of the sources of competition among Ghanaian musicians in the country.
However, Sarkodie stated that he is still the first Ghanaian artist to create his fan base inside and outside Ghana. He recalled that most of the artists were making music without any followers.
In addition, he insisted that anyone who wanted proof of what he said, can check on Twitter to confirm the date and time his first fanbase (Team Sarkodie) was created internationally.
“We started, we started the following, but people do not know. What happens is that sometimes we have to make things clear. Go see … If you are doing your checks, if you want to discuss, go to Twitter to check the date the Sarkodie team was created, “he said.
Sarkodie further recognized Wizkid for drawing his attention to create a fan base that can increase listeners and lovers of his music.
