Minister of Energy, John Peter Amewu.
I am writing to warn the people of the Hohoe constituency to consider the person who can transform the area, regardless of their political affiliations.
Some people think that I am an open and controversial person, but I prefer to tell the truth, regardless of who is in power.
I am not a lawyer, but a mining engineer and mineral economist based in Colorado, USA, but I am passionate about the progress of the country and its laws.
I do not support rigged elections, nor do I support incompetence. I therefore appeal to the judges of the judiciary to ensure that justice is served and that no one is deprived of their rights to restore peace and tranquility in the area.
In my opinion, Hon. John Peter Amewu is the kind of leader Ghana needs to increase the development goals we hope for.
A unique quality about him is the fact that the honorable minister can easily identify talents, motivate them to prosper, and empower them to produce the best in the interests of the nation.
You like to engage young, smart and fresh minds to bring about change. These people are the leaders we need in Ghana for the transformation we are all seeking.
Smart and honest politicians like his type are hard to come by these days, so the people of Hohoe will be lucky enough to have such a great man as an MP.
Regarding the issues of the parliamentary elections, I will suggest that if it is not for the majority of seats that each of the major political parties is working hard to win, the people of Hohoe should allow Amewu to develop the constituency for them. .
I can confidently answer for him in terms of the transfiguration of socio-economic development that he can send to the constituency and to the Volta region as a whole.
When he presented his intention to run for the parliamentary seat, he personally notified me via text message to ask for my opinion and requested my unwavering support in terms of a vigorous campaign.
“Alone, I just got back from Hohoe and showed up to compete for the seat. What you think? The campaign will start soon ”. He is a personable person who considers convergent and divergent points of view, as well as draws inspiration from them.
Unfortunately, he had resigned from the NPP party, but I wished him well and helped him with few campaign strategies, similar to the support I gave Richard Ahiagbah, the current Director of the Danquah Institute when he ran for the position of Secretary General of the NPP in 2018.
Besides the Hon. Amewu has exceptional leadership skills, he is simple, gentle, flexible, humble, respectful of all, easy to understand, ready to listen and comfortable to work.
They are not the kind of arrogant, wise and corrupt ministers that we see in the country. You are successful in everything you do because you draw on the contributions of experts.
My association with him during my fight for illegal mining (galamsey) when he was Minister of Lands and Natural Resources gave me the opportunity to get to know him better and learn many positive attributes from him.
If someone sits face to face with the man, the person can easily recognize that Mr. Amewu thinks of people, especially the young, and that he has good plans for the future generations of the nation.
You always want to assign development challenges to the right people who can solve them, regardless of age and political affiliations.
He is always ready to provide opportunities for young people with exceptional talents to practice what they can best contribute by allowing them to explore, bridge the gap between academics and realities, monitor their progress, and demand results.
The youth of Hohoe have been blessed with a great leader who can empower them to grow.
This is the exact leadership style of the great men of the Western world and that is the secret behind how they get ahead of us as Africans.
I can confidently state that Hon. Amewu is one of the leaders in Ghana who is practicing what he learned abroad. He is making good use of his studies and is staying in the UK and Australia.
I hope that other ministers, members of parliament, MMDCE, chiefs, pastors, bishops, and other leaders emulate their leadership qualities to make our country great.
If the PDS scandal fell on the Ministry of Energy and he was not charged as a minister, then Ghanaians should know what kind of leader he is.
Once again, Ghanaians witnessed the rapid change and the progress they made in a short period at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in terms of fighting the threat of illegal mining.
His dream was to establish a sustainable small-scale mining practice in Ghana, where operators would work in an environmentally friendly way to create jobs for millions of young Ghanaians in order to minimize poverty in mining areas.
Unfortunately, he was assigned a different responsibility in the Ministry of Energy.
In my opinion, if their successors had followed their excellent steps in the interest of the nation, the PNP deputies would not have lost more than 22 seats in the mining areas to their opponents.
I congratulate the Hon. John Peter Amewu for my personal experience with him, although other people may also have their personal perceptions of him.
I pray the good folks at Hohoe will accept him and work amicably with him if he wins the court case.
JP, as he is affectionately called, is a great man for the future of the country.
