Chelsea transfer roundup: Lampard to join Sancho chase as Hammers fear Rice’s departure – Ghana Latest football news, live scores, results

Chelsea’s recent losing streak in the Premier League has shown that Frank Lampard’s team still has a long way to go to be true title contenders.

The Stamford Bridge team spent over £ 200 million in the summer on teams like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell, among others.

And the first signs were encouraging, with Lampard’s side qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League with ease and topping the Premier League in no time.

However, they have lost three of their last five top flight matches, winning only one of them, and are expected to spend it once more when the January transfer window opens next week.

Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumors.

Blues to join rivals in hunting down Sancho

Chelsea will reportedly join Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is still on the radars of Europe’s best clubs after United failed to pay Dortmund’s £ 108 million asking price last summer.

The winger hasn’t been at his best this season but is still expected to be at the center of a bidding war.

And Chelsea, who spent more than £ 200 million on new recruits last summer, is expected to join the race, according to the Que Golazo podcast.

However, they will have to wait until the end of the season, as Dortmund won’t be amused by selling England’s ace in January.

Noble fears Rice may be on the way

Chelsea’s target Declan Rice has been singled out as future England captain by his West Ham teammate Mark Noble.

And the Hammers captain fears that Rice won’t stay in east London for long as the midfielder remains linked to a move to Stamford Bridge.

“He is still learning his trade, he will improve a lot with the experience,” Noble told talkSPORT. “I hope it’s here [at West Ham] but in this game you never know.

“I am sure that he will be a first-rate player and an even better player for years to come.

“I think if he progresses, one day he will be England captain. That’s the kind of player he is. He’s a very sensible kid.

“You have to remember that he is still 21 years old.”

Serie A teams queue up for Chelsea defender

Napoli have joined Inter Milan in the race to sign Emerson Palmieri, according to Forza Italian Football.

Chelsea could look to ditch the left back in the January transfer window with Lampard needing to trim his oversized squad.

And a bidding war between the two Serie A sides for Emerson’s services would help raise funds for Chelsea’s own hiring plans.
