The Accra Regional Police Command is on the hunt for a Charles for a 40,000.00 GHC fraud under the pretext of securing their victim an oil drilling contract.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, head of the Command’s Public Affairs Unit, told the Ghana News Agency in Accra.

She said: “The Achimota District Police, Mile 7 registered a case of fraud due to falsehood On 12/24/2020 around 2:15 p.m., someone reported that on 12/23/2020 they received a phone call from a man who introduced as Charles and Plaintiff’s client. “

DSP Tenge said said Charles told the plaintiff, a woman, that he wanted to introduce her into the supply of oil drilling substances, adding that on December 24, 2020, said Charles called her and asked her to obtain eight samples from one importer to said chlorine salt spa at 5,000.00 Ghana Cedis for one and meet with the manager of the oil drilling company to buy it.

She said that as a result, around 09:00 on the same day, after paying the total sum of GH ¢ 40,000.00 for the eight samples of said substance at the Tantra Hills bus stop in Accra to an agent of the alleged importer he tried to reach the manager of the oil company, but to no avail.

He said the author also tried to reach Charles by phone, but it was turned off.

DSP Tenge said that various efforts made to contact the defendants failed because their phones were all turned off and that police were investigating the incident.
