Reece James jumps to Frank Lampard’s defense in latest social media post

Chelsea full-back Reece James took to Instagram (h / t Daily Mail) to defend coach Frank Lampard after the team’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.

The Blues only had 48 hours after their loss to Arsenal to prepare for their game against the Villans.

Lampard made 6 changes to the team that lost at the weekend, and things were looking good when Olivier Giroud scored in the first half to make it 1-0. However, defensive confusion saw Chelsea concede a draw in the 50th minute.

The game ended 1-1, ensuring the Blues’ lousy league run continues. Chelsea have won just 1 of their last 5 league games, which has put the attention on the manager.

Reece James was one of the 6 players rested after the loss to Arsenal. César Azpilicueta replaced the Englishman, who is currently recovering from a knee injury.

James posted a long caption along with a photo of manager Frank Lampard after the draw against Villa. In it, the 21-year-old asked Chelsea fans to keep the faith and not lose sight of long-term goals.

“I feel sorry for Frank because a lot of people are pushing him. But what people do not remember is that we are in a reconstruction … “

Patience is the name of the game

The young man asked fans to stay with the club and not turn against their coach and players if the club does not “win 5-0 every week.” In addition, he said that good things will come but only with the fans doing their part.

“These things [winning titles] will come in the future if we play our role in supporting our players … “

James was also quick to defend new signings like Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, saying that new signings have a lot to readjust in their lives and deserve time and patience from fans. (h / t Daily Mail)

“The big names that have arrived are adapting to a new style of football, a new language, new teammates and many other things …”

It is refreshing to see so much maturity and good sense coming from a 21 year old.

The Blues will have a chance to fix things when they play Manchester City this weekend in the league, although the game is on the line amid a coronavirus outbreak within the City squad.
