A second-half goal from forward Steven Owusu gave Bechem United a 1-0 victory in their outstanding Ghana Premier League match against AshantiGold at Nana Gyeabour Park.

Both teams went into the clash undefeated, but Bechem defeated Ashgold thanks to Owusu’s goal in the 54th minute.

Bechem has moved three points clear at the top after Sunday’s win.

Also on Sunday another matchday four match took place at Tarkwa’s Akoon Park with Medeama and Kotoko sharing the 1-1 loot.

The Porcupine Warriors scored first in the 74th minute through Kwadwo Poku. The forward picked up a brilliant flyover from Emmanuel Gyamfi and edged past Eric Ofori Antwi.

But Abass Mohammed canceled the lead less than five minutes to end the game. The forward made no mistake from 12 meters after Medeama received a penalty.

Kotoko had a goal disallowed for offside in the early stages of the second half. They will be disappointed that they did not score three points, which would have led to them being in the top four.

The league will continue with matchday 7 matches on January 1, 2021.
