Abass Mohammed scored a final penalty to give Medeama a 1-1 draw at home to Asante Kotoko in a remarkable league match on Sunday.
It was a game of two halves, as both teams dominated on both sides of the 90 minutes at Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
The Mauves and Yellows appear to have lost steam since the start of the season in the absence of clinical goal poacher Prince Opoku Agyemang, who has been loaned to PSL Cape Town City FC.
The home team huffed and puffed in the second half in particular when the Porcupine Warriors enjoyed possession.
Kwame Poku opened the scoring for the visitors with a well-worked goal that he connected wonderfully with an incisive pass from captain Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 72nd minute.
The opening match gave visitors the confidence they needed as they dictated from the heart of the park.
Medeama will regret his chances after Kwadwo Asamoah blew his best chance before the opener with only goalkeeper Razak Abalora at his mercy.
Medeama’s coach, Samuel Boadu, dropped midfielder Justice Justice Blay from the team.
He delivered the start to Richard Boadu, who teamed up with Rashid Nortey, ERIC Kwakwa and Kwasi Donsu in the heart of the park.
They dominated the midfield and outshined the duo Latif Anabila and Emmanuel Sarkodie of Asante Kotoko.
But all possession was not reflected on the scoreboard before the halftime whistle.
Medeama has yet to win at home this season in what has been a rocky start so far.
