Liberty Professionals Football Club has marked this year’s Christmas festivities with the distribution of assorted food and refreshments to the underprivileged in and around the Dansoman Community.

The move, according to the Dansoman-based club, is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and a way to ground out with fans in the community.

Led by the club’s executive director, Linda Ansong, the management and play corps distributed food and beverages to more than 1000 people within the communities visited.

The distribution started from the Dansoman roundabout to Tunga, the last stop of Dansoman and other neighboring settlements.

Fans thanked the team for the gesture and also encouraged the players to do their best in the current Ghana Premiere League.

Speaking to the media, Ms. Ansong said that she was overjoyed at the success of the event, especially not only touring the area with the players and management, but also sharing how little the club has on Christmas Day.

“I am really shocked, because I realized that people were happy despite how small we gave them. I am very happy with the response I have received from people in the community and that has given us the confidence to do more, ”she said.

He congratulated the community for their support of the club over the years.

“The Dansoman people made us who we are, without the community we cannot boast of what we have, especially the great talents we have cultivated. He mentioned Derrick Boateng, Michael Essien, and Asamoah Gyan as some of the great talents that the Dansoman community has produced for the nation.

“We urge them to continue supporting us to grow because we are here with them,” he said.

The ‘Scientific Soccer Lads’ placed 12th in the 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League after six games.

Ansong assured that the team will change its performance when the league resumes from Christmas.

“I think we have a very good team. They are workers and with time we will surely turn things around ”.
