Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has urged the country’s political actors in the Christmas spirit to reconcile differences, especially after the elections.

According to him, there is a need for unity after such a spiteful campaign period.

The minority of the Democratic National Congress has not fully accepted the results of the polls, but Suame’s deputy says that the yuletide must mark a new beginning.

Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu congratulated the MPs who were victorious in the polls saying they “put up a good fight.”

“Many have returned and will be part of the Eighth Parliament.”

He also had words of encouragement for the deputies who lost, many of whom were on the majority side, as the NDC won enough seats to cause a hung Parliament.

Both parties won 137 seats each.

In total, 130 MPs will not return to Parliament in 2021.

Of the 130; 14 voluntarily decided not to seek reelection, while 50 failed in their bid for reelection during their various parliamentary primaries.

Another 65 lost the 2020 parliamentary elections.

“They should not be scared because in this world when one door is closed, another can open.”

“For those who were unsuccessful, let me wish you better luck next time. I know some of them would want to make a comeback. ”
