Tottenham manager José Mourinho was endorsed by President Daniel Levy this summer and several of his main targets reached North London. Gareth Bale returned on loan from Real Madrid and brought with him his teammate Sergio Regulion. Carlos Vinicius joined on loan from Benfica to provide support for Harry Kane, while midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was signed from Southampton. But what new faces are needed next month and who should make way?
Antonio rudiger
The Chelsea defender has had difficult minutes this season following the arrival of Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues were thought to have tried to get rid of the central defender in the summer, that was after he played a major role in convincing fellow German nationals Timo Werner and Kai Havertz to move to Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho has always been a fan of the defender and it seems his time in West London is up.
The only problem that could arise is that Chelsea is unlikely to sell a first-team player to their Premier League rivals, especially one who still plays regularly for their country.
Milan Skriniar
Tottenham signed Joe Rondon from Swansea over Milan Skriniar this summer, but the Inter Milan star was Mourinho’s first center-back choice.
The Spurs still have back problems and with Toby Alderweireld aging, Davison Sanchez looking shaky and Japhet Tanganga constantly injured, they can come back for Skriniar.
Levy will have to dig into his pockets if he wants to capture the highly rated defender.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Inter will release their star in January, but only if their valuation of £ 45m is reached.
Arkadiusz Milik
Arkadiusz Milik is another player Tottenham asked about this summer but was put off by his price.
The Napoli forward has scored 38 goals in 53 Serie A starts, but has fallen but hasn’t played a single minute this season.
The head of the Polish Football Association, Zibi Boniek, has warned Milik that he will not participate alongside Robert Lewandowski in Euro 2020 if he does not have regular match time.
And Napoli have lowered their starting price from 35 million pounds to 15 million pounds, which could prompt Spurs to come back.
