The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been unfair with some of its criticism in the 2020 elections.

According to him, he would be surprised if elections for a political party in Ghana can be rigged today.

“I would be surprised in Ghana today if the Election Commission leaders could sit at Ridge headquarters and claim that they can rig elections for a political party,” he said.

This comes after former President Mahama raised concerns about recently completed polls describing the results as fictitious.

Speaking to Emefa Apawu, the PNP organizer explained that the party has never been involved in the EC hiring process.

“We were not part of that hiring process and we were never part of the hiring process during the JA Kufuor era, so from the Rawlings era to the Kufuor era, Mills, Mahama have had more time to be in government, I have had a longer opportunity to appoint electoral commissioners at the top ”, he emphasized.

He added that the PNP did not hire, but rather made new appointments at the top in consultation with the various authorities and agencies.

“We did not recruit, but we made new appointments at the top in consultation with the various authorities and agencies, unless someone suggests to me that Charlotte Osei was put there to carry out Mr.’s orders that is when further extrapolation can continue.” , said.

Citing the 2012 elections as a reference, he said that when the PNP felt they had won that election and subsequently preceded the court believing that the court was the best place to seek redress.
