A strong case for the Hon. Afenyo Markin will become the next majority leader of Parliament. Part 1 | Politics

Many well-meaning Ghanaians have asked, through public recommendations, the New Patriotic Party to consider elevating the current Leader Majorty in order to pave the way for fresh blood to assume the position of “majority front line” in the 8th Parliament, keeping in mind that, this is the last time that the Honorable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu will represent the good people of the Suame constituency.

To the extent that I agree with them, I am also of the opinion that H.E. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, who for the first time has been able to retain Effutu’s post for three “consecutive terms” for the PNP, should be at the center of the highest consideration.

The call for a change in the leadership of the majority caucus is based on the fact that the 8th Parliament is going to be more crucial due to what appears to be a tie in numbers and this, according to many people, will pose a very difficult challenge for government business at home.

One of the reasons many Ghanaians, including myself, support the PNP is because the party abhors mediocrity and strongly believes in competition. The party would, on any given day, view competition as a non-negotiable consideration in making all decisions.

In short, the NPP has amply demonstrated to the people of Ghana that competition has no substitute in their companies and that; I would always reward competition over convenience. Now, more than ever, the party’s ancestral belief in competition is being tested once again and I am confident that the party will pass this test.

The competence of the Honorable Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin is not in doubt because he has been extremely astonishing in his overall parliamentary disposition, manifested in the quality of his debate and contribution on the House floor and beyond.

When the going gets tough for the PNP side in Parliament, you will see it stand up to do the party’s rescue mission. When he’s on his feet, you would have no absolute basis or foundation to put him in order or challenge his claim due to his fantastic submission that the house always brings.

The name Afenyo Markin sounds great when it comes to proper debate anchored in verifiable facts and laws. Regarding her outspoken nature and her articulation skills, especially in the Queen’s language, I have decided not to navigate such an area because she has no rival in the house. As a backbencher, he always makes his point fearlessly.

As a vociferous advocate, how he managed to get a disqualified fisherman back on the run in the 2015 District Assembly elections in Mensah’s most notorious case against the Election Commission and Other is proof that he has what it takes to rally the strength when the going gets tough.

In fact, “Some years ago, when state anti-grafts such as the Office of Organized and Economic Crime and the Office of National Investigators became so powerful at the expense of citizens’ fundamental human rights and due process, their staunch defense For customers who were affected it has become the magna carta to deal with the exercise of the power of EOCOs to freeze people’s accounts.[ Executive Director, Economic And Organized Crime Office v Investment Strategies Enterprise, Daniel Addo]

I was not at all surprised when the famous African Watch magazine voted him the best overall performing MP in the Ghana Parliament. In fact, the time has come for the New Patriotic Party to consider him the next majority leader in the 8th Parliament.
