Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu says that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Techiman Sur, Christopher Baasongti, was stripped of his seat, which he contested in the recently concluded elections.

In his opinion, the declaration of the seat by the Electoral Commission (EC) in favor of the New Patriotic Party (PNP) is fraudulent, so the party will not allow it to appear.

“Christopher of the NDC won the Techiman South seat allows anyone, including the media, to demand transparent, public compilation and aggregation of results from Techiman constituency, voting station by voting station and results certified even by the NPP and you would know the eventual Techiman South winner, ”he told Joseph Opoku Gakpo of JoyNews.

Techiman South became the center of controversy after confusion erupted when NDC supporters prevented the president from declaring the PNP parliamentary candidate Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah the winner.

A verdict that the NDC has rejected and intends to overturn.

However, the Member of Parliament (MP) from Tamale South asked the EC to openly compile the Techiman South results in a satisfactory manner in accordance with Ghanaian laws.

In addition, he threatened that, until the results of Techiman’s South Parliament are reconciled, his side of the House will not participate in the inauguration exercise on January 7.

Iddrisu challenged the EC to publish the parliamentary results of the Techiman South constituency.

“If Techiman South’s results are not resolved amicably and satisfactorily in accordance with the laws of Ghana and, in particular, with regulation 43 of CI 127 of the EC. We will even condition it to the inauguration that will take place on January 7 because that gives us the majority in Parliament that we need, “he said.
