Philippe Senderos has suggested to Marca that Real Madrid borrower Dani Ceballos should remain at Arsenal this summer as he would adapt to the Premier League under the guidance of coach Mikel Arteta.
Ceballos, 23, joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid last summer, but has since struggled to make a huge impact. He has played only 24 times in all competitions, losing 11 games due to a muscle problem.
The Spain international is expected to return to Zinedine Zidane’s side this summer when his loan expires. The Express claims that Arsenal would have to spend a whopping £ 36m to sign Ceballos permanently this summer.
The former Arsenal defender Senderos has claimed that Ceballos should remain in north London this summer and complete a permanent move to the Emirates, because the midfielder, under Arteta, would adapt to the Premier League.
TBR’s opinion: Arsenal should look elsewhere than Ceballos
The fast-paced, physical Premier League simply doesn’t suit Ceballos. The Real Madrid ace is more suited to a technical-based soccer style, where he would be given time to shine in the middle of the park, rather than wishing for a battle.
Series A would be ideal for Ceballos, where the midfielders dictate the pace of play and are given room to impress. Senderos’ claim may be true, but Arsenal itself should look for somewhere other than a permanent move for Ceballos.
