No time for mince pies and mulled wine for Manchester United bosses, as the January window is fast approaching and transfer links get thicker and faster.
An exciting Bundesliga report hints that Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland will soon be leaving for a new challenge, with United and Real Madrid constantly linked with the prolific young forward.
While a raid for Haaland would likely impose a dazzling fee, the Red Devils are also looking for deals.
David Alaba is one of those targets and is sought after by giant clubs across Europe as he nears the end of his contract with Bayern Munich.
United has taken the lead in the race for the demanded Bayern Munich star, while there are also updates on Renato Sanches and Amad Diallo.
Here’s Wednesday’s Manchester United transfer summary.
United will ‘rival’ Liverpool for Sanches
Manchester United will reportedly challenge Liverpool to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The 23-year-old Sanches has rekindled his best form with the Ligue 1 club after a turbulent three-year stint with Bayern Munich.
Liverpool is understood to view the Portuguese international as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, whose contract expires next summer.
But La Gazzetta dello Sport He claims United are also targeting Sanches as they look to strengthen their options in central midfield.
Praise offer sent
Manchester United have taken the lead in fiercely competitive competition to sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
United have contacted the player’s agent, Pini Zahavi, about a free transfer next summer.
Alaba has been unable to agree to an extension with Bayern and is destined to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, after a brilliant decade with the Bundesliga giants.
But Spanish publication AS warns that there is great interest in the 28-year-old from Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the running.

Red Devils ‘trusts’ Diallo permission
Manchester United are hopeful that Amad Diallo will be granted a work permit so that he can bond with his new teammates in January, according to The Guardian.
The Red Devils agreed to a deal with Atalanta to sign the 18-year-old in October for an initial fee of £ 19 million.
Diallo has made two appearances for the Italian club this season after his big 2019/20 campaign.
The report adds that Diallo will not arrive on January 1, but rather later in the month, once the final details of the transfer have been worked out. You will not have to quarantine upon arrival in the country as you are part of an elite sports bubble in Atalanta.
