A Nigerian woman named Ifeoma Otubo allegedly hanged herself in Okposi Umuoghara in the Ezza North local government area of Ebonyi state.
The mother of five children committed suicide behind her home on Sunday, December 20, due to the fact that it was difficult for her to take care of her children.
According to her brother, Christopher Oyibo, Ifeoma had tried to commit suicide in 2014 due to difficulties, but was rescued.
A close source revealed that the 45-year-old woman and her family were displaced due to the persistent Ezza / Eziulo communal disaster in the Ishielu local government area of the state.
The source said;
“She was among the people displaced by the Ezza / Eziulo war. She returned to her father’s house after being displaced by the communal war along with her husband and children, but since then, life has not been easy for the family. About five years ago she tried to commit suicide, but the people who saw her stopped her. “
“But this time, the husband said that he entered his room because the wife’s family gave them two rooms, so he entered her room while she, the deceased, entered her room with the children. Very early in the morning, when the children woke up to rest, they saw their mother hanging from the mango behind their house.
“It was said that the sick woman during her first suicide attempt gave her difficulties as a reason because before the war they lived well and had a personal business that she managed, but when they moved to the parents’ house in Umuoghara they became little farmers and life. it became difficult. “
