Lionel Messi has been talking about Barcelona’s goals for the 2020-21 season after collecting his seventh Pichichi trophy on Monday for finishing as La Liga’s top scorer last season.

The Barcelona captain finished at the top of the list with 25 goals in 33 games and collected the trophy for the seventh time in 11 seasons.

The Barcelona captain spoke with Marca after picking up Pichichi about his team’s slow start to the season and admits that they need a good run of results to shoot the table and get back into the fray.

“We are going to try to win everything, as it always happens with this club. We are improving little by little. It is true that we have taken a while to get going in LaLiga. We shouldn’t have lost so many points.

“I think we deserved more in the games against Alavés and Gefate, and also against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. In those three games we created a lot of scoring chances, and if we had converted them, the situation in those games would have been different.

“Now the important thing is to have a streak of good results in a few games to be able to move up the table. This takes time and with the pandemic all games are very difficult. The truth is that football has changed a lot and it is difficult for everyone, but things will be fixed little by little ”.

Messi was also asked about the possibility of winning the Pichichi again and, in general, he admitted that “it is not something that worries me” because he would prefer to land in La Liga.

Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno is the early scoring leader in La Liga with eight goals in 12 games, while Messi is just two in six of 13 games.
