The Ghana Football Association has banned football administrator Kofi Manu from all football-related activities for one year for violating Article 18 of the GFA Code of Ethics (2019).

Kofi Manu was captured in documentary number 12 receiving gifts that go against the Association’s code of ethics and was invited to appear before the Ghana FA Ethics Committee.

In a statement from the Ghana Football Association, Kofi Manu has not cooperated with the Ethics Committee procedures.

“The GFA Ethics Committee at its meeting held on December 10, 2020 determined that Mr. Kofi Manu had violated Article 18 of the GFA Code of Ethics (2019) (Duty to Cooperate) which imposes the duty of assist and cooperate sincerely, fully and in good faith with the Ethics Committee at all times, and take no action, actually or apparently, with the intention of obstructing, evading or otherwise interfering with any actual or potential procedure of the Ethics Committee “.

“A copy of the Tiger Eye video was added to the letter. However, Mr. Manu did not appear before the GFA Ethics Committee. Mr. Manu also did not comply with a prior invitation to appear before the Ethics Committee. on November 19, 2020.

“In a letter dated December 1, 2020, Mr. Manu raised several issues that could have been resolved if he had attended the meeting scheduled for December 3, 2020. On the basis of his conduct, the Committee stated to Mr. Kofi Manu guilty of violating article 18, which imposes the following sanctions in case of violation: a fine of at least 5,000 GHc and a ban on participating in any football-related activity for a maximum of two years

“Looking ahead, the Committee hopes that Mr. Kofi Manu will act in good faith and desist from acts that may discredit the image of the game and the GFA,” the statement said.
