In comments given to the ‘Mirror’, Louis Van Gaal analyzed Man Utd’s goalless draw with Man City on December 12.
The Dutch soccer legend also spoke about his relationship with Spanish coach Pep Guardiola. He didn’t hit any hits when it came to criticizing the tactics of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the City game.
“All United did was defend with 10 men. In the derby, United played as if they were servants of Man City. Honestly, United were just defending and putting a couple of players up front who can run 100 meters in 9 seconds. Is that a world record?“Van Gaal said.
“Everybody knows my relationship with Pep Guardiola, who is angry with me because I challenged him in my last book. But I enjoyed watching City more than United. I have much more sympathy for the city than for United, “continued the Dutchman.
Van Gaal even went further by suggesting that the Norwegian coach could be fired in summer. “Solskjaer is a former player so he won’t be fired as quickly as anyone else. United will not fire a manager during the season, especially Solskjaer. But they waited with firing me until the end of the season and that could happen to him ”, he concluded.
