Marcus Rashford is reportedly in line to receive a lucrative new contract at Manchester United, as the club tries to deter potential moves from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 23-year-old is off to his best start to a top flight season with 12 goals to his name so far, and it is now said that United hopes to compromise their long-term future at Old Trafford.
Rashford’s current deal with the club runs through 2023 with the option of an additional year on top, but United want to improve the terms at their current £ 200,000 per week setup, according to the Mirror.
United are reported to be taking the first precautions to tie Rashford to a deal ahead of the European Championship delay next summer.

Rashford hit a double to secure a 3-2 win, and his attacking partner Anthony Martial also found the back of the net.
The England star rose to fame in 2020 due to his incredible work off the field, with a tireless campaign to guarantee free school meals for young people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Rashford garnered broad public support after personally taking on the government and forcing a U-turn for the implementation of free school meals.
The 23-year-old also received an MBE for his charity work and has promised he’s just getting started.
In total, Rashford has scored 79 goals in 234 appearances for the Red Devil, since he debuted as an 18-year-old in 2016.
