CHELSEA’s transfer target, Declan Rice, is now represented by his father Sean.
The West Ham United midfielder is enjoying another impressive campaign after the Hammers fended off the Blues’ interest last summer.
Frank Lampard is desperate to add the England international to his ranks.
And those hopes could have been raised after The Athletic reported that their staunch Chelsea supporting father Sean is now acting as their agent.
SunSport understands that their Sean does not have a season ticket at Stamford Bridge, despite reports that this is the case.
However, they claim that any thought of that having a direct impact on any potential transfers is ‘premature’ and West Ham’s stance remains the same.
They even claim that due to their good start to the campaign, they would even turn down an £ 80 million offer for their star asset next month.
Chelsea, who pulled Rice out of her academy when she was young, also have Manchester United vying with them for the 21-year-old.
Reports have emerged that United are in the market for a defensive midfielder and a center back, both positions Rice can fill.
Although they are happy to wait until next summer, if a specific goal were available in January, they would make a move, but club bosses do not expect revenue at this stage.
Instead, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is focusing on completing his squad review in the next two windows.
And the Norwegian chief is said to rate the ace of the Three Lions, Rice very well.
Rice assumed the captaincy at West Ham with Mark Noble out of the starting team and has flourished in the job.
He is signed by the Hammers until 2024.
