Martin Odegaard will turn 22 on December 17 with the aim of ensuring a place at Real Madrid that is very important on his agenda.

The midfielder has struggled to stay fit this season and has just recovered from his third injury setback of the season.

Early in the season, Odegaard suffered from knee tendon problems, the same problem that had hampered him towards the end of last season at Real Sociedad.

After appearing in three of Real Madrid’s first four games of the season, including starts against Real Sociedad and Real Betis, a blow stopped the Norwegian playmaker. Odegaard played again in Real Madrid’s defeat against Valencia at the Mestalla.

After two other titles in the Champions League and one in LaLiga Santander, he was out again due to another muscle injury.

Now the midfielder is set to make his second comeback of the campaign against Eibar in Ipurua on Sunday.

Odegaard had hoped that, after years of development on loan at the Eredivisie and later at San Sebastián, he could finally claim a place in the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Once free of physical problems, he will seek to establish himself in the center of the field of Zinedine Zidane up front.
