Lawyer Anthony Namoo, the New Patriotic Party (PNP) Upper East regional president, told the group that asked him to resign that he is not ready to cower.

A group that calls itself the Patriotic Movement for Growth in a statement issued on Monday, December 14, 2020, asked the regional president to resign after the party performed poorly during the recently concluded general elections.

Contrary to the goals set by the party to win seven seats in the region, the party rather lost two of the seats it holds in the region and also reduced the margin of votes it won in the 2016 elections.

“Unfortunately, the region was heading for a record of worst performance. The region was going to lose its 3 seats and decrease its participation in the presidential votes to approximately 32%.
