The “Damn” singer who has been released from custody in the East African country a few hours ago is set to storm into Ghana to perform this weekend.
Omah Lay and Tems, were detained by the Ugandan authorities after performing in a show amid the global pandemic.
The young Nigerian singers were arrested and charged after sharing videos of their packed audience flocking to their performances.
In recounting her ordeal on Twitter, Omah Lay revealed that: “I’m handcuffed in Uganda right now with Tems.”
He continued: “I am just a singer trying to entertain, why do they install me in Uganda? I didn’t organize a show, I went on stage and saw a lot of fans and sang to them. “
“Why are you stopping me? Why have I not been granted the right to a fair hearing? “ added.
According to the Ugandan authorities, they disobeyed laws against Covid-19 security protocols. It took an online petition from their Nigerian fans and giant musicians like Burna Boy, Davido, Mr Eazi, to convince the Ugandan authorities to forgive them.
And immediately after his release, he announced in a new video that he will be in Ghana to entertain his fan base here.
