The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in Parliament intends to nominate candidates for President and other positions when the eight parliaments are installed. YEN.com.gh has met.
The Electoral Commission (EC) declared 137 seats for the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) in the general elections that just ended, with another 136 secured by the NDC.
An independent candidate, attorney Andrew Asiamah Asamoah has 1 seat. The outcome of the Sene-West constituency has yet to be resolved.
Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, reiterated previous positions of the NDC hierarchy that the party secured the majority of work in Parliament.
According to the party, he won 140 seats in Parliament in the recently concluded general elections.
“We are preparing to also have the first vice president and we have a list. When Parliament meets, we will present the names of the spokespersons, the first vice president and the chairmen of the committees, ”said Ablakwa.
Meanwhile, the Most Reverend Asante urged the NDC and its standard bearer to desist from inciting supporters to take to the streets and follow established legal channels for the resolution of electoral disputes.

According to him, there was nothing wrong with Mahama and the NDC rejecting the results of the polls.
He said that they have every right to express their opinions, but they have no right to compromise the peace of this country by expressing their opinions.
In a separate development, YEN.com.gh has concluded that the team of investigators deployed by the NDC to collect evidence of vote manipulation completed their task on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Private lawyer and member of the party’s legal team, Abraham Amaliba disclosed this to Accra-based Starr FM.
He said the discoveries made by the party during the fact-finding mission would shock Ghanaians.
